In the Neapolitan culinary art, Paccheri have origins deeply rooted. Once they were a type of "pasta of poor people" because they were large and few of them were enough to fill the dish. A nice curiosity about them concerns the origin of the name: "pacchero" means to "slap" in dialect and therefore are also called schiaffoni. They can be combined with a good liquid sauce and then emanate a particular sound that remembers a slap. It is available all year round and for shipping throughout Europe.
